Mali is the home of some of Africa's most famous musicians, for example Boubacar Traoré (Kar Kar), Ali Farka Touré, Salif Keita, Oumou Sangaré, Amadou & Mariam, Habib Koité and Toumani Diabaté.

Boubacar Traoré (bottom photo) is one of Mali's most celebrated musicians, and frequently performs in Europe. His songs consist of traditional Malian music schemes, blended with American blues elements and influences of Arab music.
