The 1100 kilometer long Bani river is navigable eight months a year. By the end of the annual rain season (around September) the river floods. The town of Djenné then temporarily turns into an island.

You can take an adventurous cruise (2 people) all the way up north on your private traditional pirogue, a wooden boat. A captain and a cook/guide will safely take you anywhere you wish to go, at your own pace. Food can be prepared on board by the cook (a fridge is present), or you can visit a restaurant along the route.

At night the boat is all yours. The staff itself sets up camp at appropriate distance on the bank of the river, so you can freely enjoy romantic moments in the on-board jacuzzi and sleep under the canopy bed.

Please contact us for more information or when you wish to make a reservation.
