The trip from Bamako to Djenné takes at least eight to nine hours, so be sure to leave Bamako early in the morning. You can take the bus at Sogoniko, the bus station near Bamako. There are several buses to Mopti, that pass Djenné. Ask the bus driver to drop you off at le carrefour de Djenné; the intersection at the turn off to Djenné, which is about 30km from the Sandcastle. Here you can take a taxi or bus to town (they run very irregularly!). The Sandcastle is just across the river, as you leave the ferry. You may also call us, so we can send a van to pick you up.
The Sandcastle is the first sight to visitors entering the Djenné area by ferry across the Bani.
